Our Story

HC Remodel & Design is a family story three generations in the making. It started with Gary Haldeman's grandfather, a building contractor, and continued as Gary grew up learning the trade alongside his own father.

Over many years, Gary moved from custom furniture and cabinetmaking to master carpentry, and finally to leading his own design-build firm. He founded The Haldeman Corporation in 1998, and in 2012, it became HC Remodel & Design, built around a small group of loyal clients. Gary's love of craftsmanship and problem-solving shaped the work, while his wife Cathy built the systems and structure that allowed the business to grow.

What began in a home office and shop found a permanent home in 2024, when HC acquired a larger building with expanded design, office, and workshop space to support the company’s continued growth.

Today, HC Remodel & Design brings together family members, skilled craftsmen, designers, and dedicated team members around a shared standard of thoughtful design and exceptional workmanship. Together, they are building on three generations of craftsmanship while serving a growing family of clients for generations to come.

Our Process

1 | Start the Conversation
Every project begins at the first call. Our team takes the time to understand how you live, your pain-points, and your vision. We walk you through the possibilities, discuss investment expectations with transparency, and provide thoughtful guidance. Our goal is to provide you with the clarity and confidence to move forward at your own pace.
2 | Design Your Space

Our in-house design team transforms your concepts into vision boards, photorealistic renderings, and detailed plans, guiding you through each decision. Together, we'll refine each element until it feels just right, then present a comprehensive proposal with clearly defined scope, and investment allowing you to move forward with complete confidence.

3 | Build Your Vision

With all details finalized, our team manages everything that follows, from material procurement and delivery scheduling to meticulous project management and expert craftsmanship. Throughout construction, your home is treated with the utmost care through comprehensive dust protection, and routine cleanings.

4 | Celebrate Your Home

When your space is complete, we gather for a Project Celebration! This gives both parties a relaxed opportunity to walk through the finished space together, reflect on the transformation, and hear about your experience before we officially close out the project.
